ALSO PRESENT: Councilmember Forslund and SuiId3.n~ Zoning Official Rose. Jim Petrowski, 2708 Co4nty Road J, etated he would like co~ente from the Planning Commieoion, regarding the garege additior: he ie propoeing to build, so he would know whether to proceed wiCh filLng an application and paying the required fees. He presen.ted the Planning Commieaion with copies of a sketch of hia iot and the proposed building. He explained he wanted to put the garage in the proposed epot to aerve ae a'noiea buffar from the traffic on County Road J. He added that he cannot aleep in the bedroom in his house that is closest to Counky Road J. OEficisl Roae explained the right of. way ie 33' from the center of the road, and ttiere would be approximately 18' Erom L•ha proposed addition to the right of way. He also etated Mr. Petroweki was presently in line with his neighbors. Chairman Mountin advised Mr. Petroweki that he could mt~ke an application Eor variance, if he wiahed, and if tt~e Planning Commiseion deni.ed it, he caould have the right to appeal it to the City Council. She al.ao adviaed him that the Council has a time for reaidente requeats and coum~ents at their meeting if he wiahed to addresa r..hem. Official Roae explained the requeated variance is 5. He reported the 2610 Louiea property directly acrosa the atreet is classified Avenue, Variance wetlanda and may never develoQed, as well as Request (Reduced Greenwood not being a through etreet and naver side yard aetback, will be, corner lot) R-1 .- Single Family The Planning Co~nisaion diacueaed the request, ` Zone ._~ clarifying the grade of the property, and making Case 106-82 the puinta that it ie actually only half a corner, that there ia etill potential for devalop- ment of the watlanda, that it is not neceaearily a unique aikuation, and there could be a safety factor involved with peop2e driving around the corner, and ehey ehould etay as clase to the required aethacka as posaible. The remaining Co~isaioners etated thpy did not feel it wae a unique aituation, and an 8' variatnce requeet was too large, wieh a aimilar varianca requeat being denied in the past. Di.ecusa Paet the Planning Commiseion regarding what had Counoil Acticn occurred at the last Councii meeting. Chairman and Next ]1gan4a Mountin requested that the Plaaning Commieuinners r.ecoive copie~ of• the Council's upcoming agendas, so they will know what is being discussed beforahand. Counai2mamber Foralund 3nformed the Planning Commission that as of the June 2, 1982, Plann3ng Commisaion meeting, there will be a change in Staff responeibilities. Upon questioning from the Planning Commission, ahe stated that the new City Engineer, John Johnaon, wae doing the implementation of tha reorganization and she was not sure how it would afEect the Plunninq Commiesion, Chairrnan i~iountin stated ahe £elt the Planning Commis-- sion ehould be inc'luded in any reorganization dis- cueaiona, as they appear to bo directly affected. ShQ stated the Planninq Commisaion does have input to give the Counei.l, and she f.eala the Council has left the Planaing Commission'totally in the dark, and they would like to be invited to discuss the iesued with the Cauncil. Chairman Mountin etated the Plann~.ng Commiasion would like to get togeChor with the Council to diecuse the Ckiapter 40 roview, and reoommended t.he Council come to a Planning Commission agenda eassion, where it could'be the oniy topic on the agenda.
