Fxad Hnae, of M,H. Anderaon Construction, atated that
when they were fir~t granted conceptual approval, Chey
had 112 townhouaes planned, which waa approved by both
the Plar.ning Cowmisaion aud City Council, but two months
Later they came Uack with a design chenge, changing the
112 townhonsee to 1b$ condominiume, which was spproved
by tha Council. l;e explained that in the aingle family
area they itad planned two-family homes along Silver Lake
Road ae a buffer, but now would like to put aingl.e
family homes in inetea$, whi.ch would be two lesa homes
tttan the two-fami].y izomea. He added they hacl built
several eingle iamily homes on 60' lote in Aloomington,
whiah have been very well reaeived. He stated that
Bloomington had approved the 60' lots due to the density.
Director Thatcher raported there ~.s not qutte enough
{,'"~creage (2.867) to meet the 3 acre need to declare a PUD.
°-~Mr. Haas sCated they would be able to reduce the selZing
price of each home bq $3,OQ0 -$4,000 with the narxower
lots.

Chairman Mountin pointed ont Chey had approved the double
bungelowe nrigiaally becauee that is what ~'he developer
had reqaested. Mr. Haas replied the presenC home ovmero
in the development are very opposed to having two fam•Lly
homes built in that area, as they £eel it will lower the
value of the development, and two family home residents
are generally more mobile.
Chairman Moutttin stated the major concern ie how to apply
an equal meaeuring etick thraughouC the co~nunity, ae
if this was approved, they would heve many 2evelop~ra coming
in requesting Che same rhing. She asked thet StafE reseaxch
the matter Futher, since the development hae already been
given the ten percent bonus for the PUA.
Dlrector Thatcher replied that Staff will take a look at
tl:e denaity question, and whrre the PUD ia meaoured from,
and could theq do another PUD in Chis development.

agenda neseion, Commiasi~nere Werren, Andarson, Miller Report
and Mountin were present~ with Commissloner Forslund
having an excused absence, end Commiseioner Lauterbar,h
submitting his resignation.
~rector Thatcher adviaed that K-Gas will be making
~°X presertation to tho Planning Commisalon on March 20.
He a13o reported he has information on ccitical viata
and satellite diahea, which he will be preennting at
the next Hgenda Sassion.
Uirector Thatcher asked the Commissioners to let the
clerical staff know when they started with the Ptanning
Commission,
pirector Thatcher reviewed the letter recaivea from
David Gicht, outl3ning his recommendatione for
reviewing the Comprehensive Plah. He stated he would
contact the reaidents who had beun at the K-Gas meetin~
esrlier, letting them know there would be an informal
meeting at 7:30 PM on March 20, to discuss the isaue
further.
Dire~tor Thatcher reportad he had received a petition
from reaidents on Knollwood Drive, reqarding the
extention, which he nad sent on to the City Attorney
£or review. He explained the petltion ia ta exCend
Knollwood Crive to the south.
