CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL REGARDING HIGHWAY 10 MEDIAN CUT FOR PINECREST PROPERTIES WHEREAS, a,request has been received by the City to consider the feasibility of a controlled intersection median cut on Highway 10 midway between County Road H and County Road H-2; and WHEREAS, this request is planned in conjunction with proposed development of the property north of Highway 10 known as Pinecrest Addition; and WHEREAS, Planning District 2, which the Pinecrest Properties and other vacant parcels fall within, and its transportation plan call for a median cut on Highway 10 between County Road H and County Road H-2 in order to provide for emergency access as well as a workable traffic pattern; and WHEREAS, preliminary traffic analyses indicate that development within the Pinecrest Addition and other vacant parcels in Planning District 2 would require a median cut on Highway 10 between County Road .H and County Road B-2 in order to alleviate potential traffic problems at the intersection of County Road H/Highway 10 and County Road B-2/ Highway 10; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission concurs that the City should investigate the feasibility of this proposed controlled intersection median cut; NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'l' RESOLVED that the Mounds View Planning Commission recon~ends to the City Council that a resolution be adopted by the City Council requesting the Minnesota Department of Transporta- tion pursue the feasibility of a controlled intersection median cut between County Road H and County Road H-2 on Highway 10 for the future road connection and development of the Pinecrest Addition; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mounds View Planning Commission directs staff to forward this resolution to the City Council prior to approval of the minutes.
