MOUNDS VIEW PLANNING COMMISSION
RESOLUTION NO. 153-85
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING ZONING PROPERTY BOUNDED ON THE
NORTH BY COUNTY ROAD H, ON THE EAST BY INTERESTATE 35VJ,
AND ON THE SOUTH AND WEST BY STATE HIGHWAY 10
WHEREAS, this land is within the City limits of Mounds
View; and
WHEREAS, this land was not reviewed by the City's
Comprehensive Land Use Plan; and
VJHEREAS, this land is not zoned; and
WHEREAS, staff has received requests from the Minnesota
Department of Transportation, Metropolitan Transit Commission and
some developers for the zoning on this property; and
VJHEREAS, Federal and State governments do not need to
abide by local zoning laws, but usually do; and
WHEREAS, Rice Creek flows through this site; and
WHEREAS, Rice Creek is a regional and metropolitan- wide
recreational resource; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council andjor Ramsey County
have proposed paths for walking and/or biking in the area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning
Commission recommends to the City Council that this property be
zoned as a public facilities district (PF);
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Mounds View Planning
Commission direct staff to forward this resolution to the City
Council prior to approval of the minutes.
