RESOLUTION NO. 409-95
CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING A VARIANCE TO ALLOW 14 CATS AT
8242 GREENWOOD DRIVE, PLANNING CASE NO. 404-94
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Planning Commission has reviewed the
request of Reginald and Sharon Nelson for a variance to allow the present 14 cats on
their residential property located at 8242 Greenwood Drive; and
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Municipal Code allows up to four (4) cats on a
residential property; and '
WHEREAS, the applicant has submitted a letter of hardship outlining the
need for the variance due to all 14 cats being exposed to the Feline Infectious
Peritonitis (FIP); and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the criteria used to
evaluate all variance requests; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has determined that exceptional
circumstances apply to the property which do not apply generally to other properties in
the vicinity and result from circumstances over which the owners of the property have
had no control.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View
Planning Commission approves the request of Reginald and Sharon Nelson for a
variance to allow the present 14 cats on their residential property contingent upon the
following:
1) The cats shall be kept inside the principal
structure on the property at all times.
2) The cat waste be placed in plastic bags and disposed of with the
everyday household waste.
3) The owner shall notify the City upon death of all 14 cats exposed to
the Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) virus.
