CALL TO ORDER
The Mounds View City Council was called to order by Mayor Linke at
7:00 p.m. on July 24, 1995.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
ROLL CALL
MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Linke, Councilmembers Trude, Blanchard,
Quick, and Hankner
• MEMBERS ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT: Samantha Orduno, City Administrator
ADDITIONS TO AGENDA:
There were no additions to the agenda for this meeting.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
MOTION/SECOND: There were no minutes to be approved.
There were no advisory commission minutes submitted for acceptance.
SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS:
There was no special order of business scheduled for this meeting.

CONSENT AGENDA
Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, read the Consent Agenda as
follows:
A. Adopt Resolution No. 4796 Approving Just and Correct Claims

Mayor Linke asked if there were any items the Council desired
removed from the Consent Agenda.
No items were removed.

Presented
VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried
RESIDENTS REQUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR:
Mayor Linke explained that this portion of the meeting was
designated for anyone who wished to speak to the Council on items
that were not on the Agenda. There were no comments or requests
from the floor.

PUBLIC HEARINGS'
There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting.
COUNCIL BUSINESS:
There were no Consent Agenda items brought forward for
consideration.
A. Consideration of Resolution No. 4795, Hiring of Recording
Secretary. Staff Report No. 95-1418C
Samantha Orduno, City Administrator reported that the contract
with Time Savers Off-Site Secretarial Services expired.
Orduno stated that because of the high cost associated with
Time Savers, the City advertised for a local person to record
the minutes. Orduno reported that Tamara Saefke had applied,
who is presently a Commission Secretary` for the City of
Fridley, recommends Ms. Saefke to the Council for the position
of Recording Secretary to the Council.
MOTION[SECOND: Trude/Hankner to Adopt Resolution No. 4795
Approving the Hiring of Tamara Saefke as Recording Secretary
VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried

Housing Inspector/Coordinator to the Metropolitan Council's
Livable Communities Advisory Committee, Staff Report No. 95-
1419C
Mayor Linke reported that he had become aware of this
Committee while attending a meeting with the Metro cities, the
Metropolitan Council and staff and felt that it would be best
to have a representative from the City on the Metropolitan
Livable Communities Advisory Committee.
Mayor Linke felt that Jennifer Bergman would be the best
candidate for appointment to the Committee.
MOTION/SECOND: Linke/Blanchard to Adopt Resolution No. 4797
Recommending and Supporting the Appointment of Jennifer
Bergman, Housing Inspector/Coordinator, to the Metropolitan
Council's Livable Communities Advisory Committee
Mayor Linke stated that the Metropolitan Council was asked to

appoint persons to this Committee. Councilmember Trude asked
who represented the City. Mayor Linke reported that there was
no representative in this area.
VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried
REPORTS
1. Report of Councilmembers:
Councilmember Quick: No report.
Councilmember Blanchard praised Joyce Pruitt for her
performance in her position. Blanchard reported that the
City had taken a homeowner, who has been in violation of
the City's code, to court and the City prevailed.
Blanchard stated that she feels the City will get cleaned
up.
Councilmember Hankner: No report.
Councilmember Trude: No report.

Report of Mayor Linke:
Mayor Linke reported that he had attended the opening of the Mounds
View Community Theater's Production of Anything Goes on Friday
evening. Mayor Linke stated that he enjoyed the performance and
encouraged the Council and the residents to attend this play.
Report of Administrator:
No. report.
Report of Staff'
There were no reports from staff.
ADJOURNMENT'
There being no further business before this Council, Mayor Linke
adjourned the meeting at 7:08 p.m.
