1. Meeting dates for 1988 scheduled for the second Thursday of each
quarter; such meetings to be called at the discretion of the Chair,
except meeting of third quarter, 9/8/88, which is a definite scheduled
meeting.

III. Business Synopsis - (Cont'd)
2. A motion was duly passed by the Mounds View Charter Commission on
November 19, 1987, which allows the City Council of Mounds View
to amend the City Charter by Ordinance with a unanimous vote of
the Council, amending Chapter 4, Section 4.02, to read as follows:
"Sec. 4.02. Filing for Office. No earlier than seventy days
nor later than fifty-six days before any municipal election,
any resident of the city qualified under state law for elective
office may, by filing an affidavit and by paying a filing fee
to the clerk-administrator in an amount as set by ordinance,
have his/her name placed on the municipal election ballot."
The purpose of this amendment is to bring the Charter into con-
formance with state law (Minnesota Statues 1986, section 205.13,
sub-division 1) relating to deadlines for filing for elective
office in municipal elections.
