STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING OUT OF STATE TRAINING FOR THE CHIEF OF
POLICE
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police is a certified polygraph examiner and in order to
maintain this professional certification he is required to attend a minimum of 30 hours of
training this year, and;
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View supports maintaining our staff's level of
expertise and professional certifications, and;
WHEREAS, no local training is available to meet the training requirement
therefore it is necessary to travel out of state to obtain the training, and;
WHEREAS, the American Polygraph Association is holding their annual training
seminar in New Orleans from August 29-25, 2007. This training seminar will meet the
training requirement. It is the policy of the city that out of state training be approved by
the city council. The cost for the training seminar is $300 plus the cost of the travel and
hotel. The police training budget is sufficiently funded to cover the cost of this seminar
this year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of
Mounds View authorizes the out of state travel for Police Chief Mike Sommer to attend
the American Polygraph Association Seminar in New Orleans from August 19-24, 2007.
