STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING A FEASIBILITY STUDY AND SURVEY FROM STANTEC FOR THE 2019
STREET RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT THAT INCLUDES BUSINESS PARK SOUTH,
BRONSON DRIVE FROM LONG LAKE ROAD TO EDGEWOOD DRIVE, AND THE PARKING
LOTS LOCATED AT SILVER VIEW PARK AND FIRE STATION 1
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View is considering to reconstruct Business Park
South, Bronson Drive, and the parking lot at Silver View Park as part of the 2019 Street
Reconstruction Project; and,
WHEREAS, this project will include pavement rehabilitation and the necessary
storm sewer and curb/gutter improvements; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council understands a feasibility study is needed to include
cost estimates on unit prices and a total project costs; and,
WHEREAS, the Spring Lake Park, Blaine, Mounds View Fire Department (SMB
Fire Dept.) has requested that Station #1, 1710 County Road 10, Spring Lake Park,
parking lot be included in the project to take advantage of obtaining lowers costs; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council understands that a Joint Powers Agreement would
be needed between Mounds View and SMB Fire Dept. if the project was awarded; and,
WHEREAS, the draft 2019 budget includes $700,000.00 for this project, in
account 485-4470-7050.
WHEREAS, Staff has received an estimate from Stantec Engineering Services to
complete the Feasibility study and survey not to exceed $12,000.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Mounds, Ramsey County, Minnesota to approve Stantec Engineering Services to
complete a feasibility study and survey for Business Park South, Bronson Drive, and the
parking lots located at Silver View Park and SMB Fire Dept. Station #1 for an estimated
cost not to exceed $12,000.00.
