AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE WELL NO. 6
REHABILITATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City established a maintenance program whereby
the City's wells would be evaluated and rehabilitated on a seven-year cycle; and
WHEREAS, Well Number 6 was last rehabilitated in 2001; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received on January 9, 2008, at
10:00 a.m. for the Well No. 6 Rehabilitation Project; and
WHEREAS, the low responsive and responsible bid was received
from Keys Well Drilling Company with a bid price of $14,115.00; and
WHEREAS, funds for this Well Rehabilitation Project were
budgeted in the Enterprise Fund, under the water infrastructure and equipment
department, construction account (account 700-4823-7050).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. That the Base Bid of Keys Well Drilling Company in the amount of
$14,115.00 for the Well No. 6 Rehabilitation Project is the lowest
responsive bid.
2. That a contract to perform said work is awarded to Keys Well
Drilling Company.
3. Funds for this well rehabilitation project are to be derived from the
Enterprise Fund, under the water infrastructure and equipment
department, construction account (account 700-4823-7050).
4. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and
directed to enter into a contract with said bidder.
5. The Public Works Department is authorized and directed to return
the deposit made for said bids, except the deposit of the successful
bidder, which shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
6. Said contract shall not exceed $20,000 without the authorization of
the City Council.
