CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING A PERMIT APPLICATION FOR COMMUNITY CHARITIES OF MINNESOTA,
A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION TO CONDUCT CHARITABLE GAMBLING AT THE
MERMAID LOCATED AT 2200 COUNTY HIGHWAY 10
WHEREAS, Community Charities of Minnesota, anon-profit charitable organization,
would like to renew their charitable gambling permit at The Mermaid located at 2200 County
Highway 10 in Mounds View; and
WHEREAS, the Gambling Control Board requires that the local unit of government
pass a resolution specifically approving or denying requests to conduct charitable gambling;
and
WHEREAS, Staff reported at the February 11, 2008, City Council Meeting, that the
organization was not able to give contributions to the trade area in 2007 due to a theft in
December of 2007; and
WHEREAS, Staff will be reporting back to the Mounds View City Council in three
months to update the City Council on the status of Community Charities of Minnesota's
contributions to the trade area.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does
hereby authorize Community Charities of Minnesota to conduct charitable gambling at The
Mermaid located at 2200 County Highway 10, subject to City Council review on a quarterly
basis.
