RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO
EDWARD J LANZ
WHEREAS, the Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View Fire Department is the
largest volunteer fire department in Anoka and Ramsey Counties and second largest in
the State of Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, it is the privilege of Mounds View citizens to recognize the public
service of Edward J Lanz who joined the Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View Fire
Department on September 9, 1996, as a volunteer Fire & Life Safety Educator; and
WHEREAS, Edward Lanz was a key member of the Fire Department and during
his tenure, served as Safety Educator Liaison, and
WHEREAS, Edward was certified at the First Responder level, and
WHEREAS, Fire & Life Safety Educator Edward Lanz was instrumental in
developing the "Senior Safety Fair", and
WHEREAS, during his years of service, Edward spent more than 1600 hours
educating the public and spent over 1500 in continuing education. He received several
commendations in recognition of his commitment to safety education and the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Mounds View
acknowledges, with sincere appreciation, the dedicated and loyal service of Educator
Edward Lanz who retired on April 4, 2008 after 10 years of service to the citizens of our
City.
Adopted this 8th day of April, 2008.
