Home My WebLink AboutResolution 7278RESOLUTION NO. 7278 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA A Resolution Authorizing the Hire of Kenneth Roberts to the Position of Community Development Director WHEREAS, upon direction from the Mounds View City Council, the Community Development Director was advertised; and, WHEREAS, twenty-four applications were received for the position and thirteen applicants were chosen for interview; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Kenneth Roberts' skills and experience were determined to most closely match the duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Community Development Director job description; and, WHEREAS, reference checks and a driver's license check have been completed on Mr. Roberts, and both checks are satisfactory; and WHEREAS, Mr. Robert's has consented to a criminal background check and Staff has submitted the criminal background check application to the Minnesota Department of Criminal Apprehension; and WHEREAS, the hire of Mr. Roberts to the position of Community Development Director is pending a satisfactory criminal background check. WHEREAS, Mr. Roberts will begin employment on June 16, 2008 at Step 2 of the wage scale as adopted herein below; and Ste 1 Ste 2 Ste 3 Ste 4 Ste 5 $68,972.80 $73,278.40 $77,584.00 $81,889.60 $86,216.00 WHEREAS, upon employment, Mr. Roberts will receive five (5) days of bank vacation time, and will continue to accrue ten (10) days of vacation time prorated annuals consistent with the City's Personnel Manual. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council appoints Mr. Kenneth Roberts to the position of Community Development Director pending a satisfactory background check from the Minnesota Department of Criminal Apprehension. Resolution 7278 Page 2 BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the City Council approves the salary scale for the Community Development Director position as indicated herein, with a starting salary for Mr. Roberts at $73,278.40 (Step 2), with an increase to Step 3 of the salary range after six months of employment, Step 4 after one year, and Step 5 after two years of employment subject to City Council authorization.
