CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW

STATE OF MINNESOTA
Authorizing a Fiber Optic Use Agreement with North Saint Paul
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to work cooperatively with the City of North
Saint Paul and the Ramsey County Library System to extend a high speed data
connection to the Mounds View Library; and
WHEREAS, this will help the Library satisfy a critical and growing need for
Internet connectivity; and
WHEREAS, this will also improve the operating cost for the Library and improve
the financial sustainability of the Library; and
WHEREAS, the City gains 'a valuable fiber segment that can be built on in the
future to enhance and develop the City's own communication needs; and
WHEREAS, the City will recover the cost of extending the fiber connection over
time.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mounds View, the Mayor and the City Clerk-Administrator are hereby authorized to sign
the fiber optic use agreement with North Saint Paul. Staff is hereby authorized to
reimburse North Saint Paul up to $28,840 for the fiber optic segment between City Hall
and the Library. Payment is authorized out of the Cable Fund account 210-4350-7030
and the budget is hereby increased by $28,840.
Said resolution was declared to have been duly passed and adopted this 12th
day of May, 2008.
