Item Title/Subject: Confirm EDC Chair & Vice Chair Appointments
Introduction:
As per Section 408.07 of the Mounds View City Code it specifies that the EDC shall appoint a
chairperson and a vice chairperson from among its voting members and such appointments shall be
subject to EDA approval. The Chair may not serve more than two consecutive one year terms and
the Vice Chair may serve unlimited consecutive terms.
Discussion:
On January 18, 2019 the EDC appointed Dennis Farmer as the EDC Chair and Jason Helgemoe as
the Vice Chair. Additionally, Ken Breske resigned from the EDC because he moved to St. Anthony
and can no longer commit to the EDC. Therefore, the EDC is actively seeking Mr. Breske’s
replacement. Should the EDA have any suggestions to fill Breske’s place on the EDC staff is asking
that you please send those recommendations to Assistant City Administrator, Brian Beeman.
Recommendation:
Consistent with City Code, staff recommends that the EDA make a motion confirming the EDC
appointments for Chair and Vice Chair.
