CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
ADOPTING A CALENDAR FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE 2020 BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City's Charter and Code as well as State Statutes set forth various
requirements for considering and adopting components of the City's budget; and
WHEREAS, Section 7.04 of the City Charter requires the City Administrator to submit to the
City Council a budget calendar to be established by resolution, and
WHEREAS, the calendar is an approximate schedule of when these actions will take place
but is not an absolute timeline.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View that
the following budget calendar is hereby adopted:
May 6, 2019 City Council discusses budget priorities at a work session.
May 30, 2019 Summary of General Fund operating budget requests delivered to City
Council.
June 3, 2019 City Council reviews General Fund budget at work session.
August 26, 2019 City Council adopts preliminary 2020 property tax levy or defers to
September 911 meeting and sets date for the Truth in Taxation Public
Hearing.
Oct. 7, 2019 City Council reviews other funds and utility rate study at a work session.
Nov. 12, 2018 City Council adopts utility rates for 2020.
Dec. 2, 2019 Truth in Taxation Public Hearing.
Dec. 9, 2019 Continuation Hearing and adoption of 2020 budget and tax levy.
Adopted May 13, 2019.
