HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 9155RESOLUTION 9155 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVAL OF SERVICE CONTRACT FOR BAS AND HVAC EQUIPMENT AND MAINTENANCE WITH TRANE BUILDING SERVICES AND ARCHITECT MECHANICAL WHEREAS, the City owns thirteen separate facilities with heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, which require more complicated contractor assistance with preventative maintenance to allow reliable, efficient and safe operation while providing comfortable indoor air climates; and WHEREAS, Trane had been performing HVAC maintenance for City Hall and the Community Center since 2007; and WHEREAS, Public Works Staff, after careful consideration, is recommending Trane Building Services perform BAS and HVAC equipment maintenance at City Hall and Community Center Facilities and Architect Mechanical, Inc. to perform HVAC equipment maintenance at the Public Works Facility and all other municipal buildings. WHEREAS, Public Works Staff has received quotes as follows: Trane Building Services: Year 1: $4,550.75/quarter ($18,203 annually) Year 2: $4,687.00/quarter ($18,748 annually) Year 3: $4,827.75/quarter ($19,892 annually) Year 4: $4,973.00/quarter ($19,892 annually) Year 5: $5,122.50/quarter ($20,490 annually) Architect Mechanical: Year 1: $6,440 annually Year 2: $6,440 annually Year 3: $6,440 annually Year 4: $6,440 annually Year 5: $6,440 annually WHEREAS, Public Works Staff recommends that Trane Building Services and Architect Mechanical be used for BAS and HVAC preventative maintenance on municipal buildings. Resolution 9155 Continued NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. Approves the service agreement with Trane Building Services to perform BAS and HVAC equipment maintenance at City Hall and Community Center. 2. Approves the service agreement with Architect Mechanical for HVAC equipment maintenance at the Public Works Facility, Park buildings and Water Facilities. 3. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution. 4. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
