CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AUTHORIZING RECRUITMENT PROCESS FOR THE DEPUTY CHIEF POSITION
WHEREAS, Deputy Chief Steven Menard has submitted his resignation
effective November 27, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department will have a need to fill this full-time,
exempt position; and
WHEREAS, staff would like to start the process of advertising for the Deputy
Chief position; and
WHEREAS, the current hiring policy allows for internal job postings and the
position will be posted internally for five (5) working days so that interested
employees may be considered for the position; and
WHEREAS, only after the vacancy is posted for five (5) working days and no
response or qualified candidates are received will the vacancy be posted externally.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council
authorizes Staff to advertise for the upcoming vacancy for the Deputy Chief position.
