HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 7360RESOLUTION 7360 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AMENDING RESOLUTION 7307 IN REGARD TO PARKING ALONG HILLVIEW ROAD AND GREENWOOD DRIVE AS RECONSTRUCTED UNDER THE 2009 - 2010 STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7223 adopted by the City Council on Feb. 11, 2008, the Streets and Utilities Committee was created; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7245 adopted by the City Council on March 24, 2008, the members of the Streets and Utilities Committee were appointed; and WHEREAS, on June 14, 2008 the Streets and Utilities Committee held a Public Meeting to review various design issues of the 2009 - 2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project and gather public input; and WHEREAS, on June 16, 2008 the Streets and Utilities Committee adopted recommendations for various design issues of the 2009 - 2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 7307 adopted by the City Council on July 28, 2008, various preliminary design issues for the 2009 - 2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project were approved, including provisions for parking along Hillview Road and Greenwood Drive; and WHEREAS, on October 23, 2008 the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission adopted recommendations regarding parking at Hillview Park; and WHEREAS, on November 10, 2008 the City Council received additional public input on the issue of parking at Hillview Park. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. Angled parking shall be provided along the north side of Hillview Road as reconstructed under the 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project from Long Lake Road to Greenwood Drive. a. 14 angled parking stalls shall be constructed. b. The angled parking stalls shall be located in front of the existing park building. Resolution 7360 Page 2 c. Two of the angled parking stalls shall be designed and designated for use by the handicapped. d. The angled parking will replace the parking lane along Hillview Road in this location. e. These improvements shall be financed in the same manner as all other street improvements under the Project. No funds from the Park Dedication Fund will be used for these improvements. 2. Greenwood Drive shall be constructed to the standard street width under the 2009-2010 Street and Utility Improvement Project.
