AUTHORITY TO ADVERTISE AND RECOMMEND A CANDIDATE FOR HIRE FOR THE
PUBLIC SERVICE OFFICER POSITON OPENING IN TWE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Civil Service Commission maintains an eligibility
list for the Public Service Officer (PSO), and;
WHEREAS, this list has now expired, and the police department has a current opening
for this position as a result of the resignation of the current PSO, and;
WHEREAS, the Public Service Officer is an essential position to the operations of the
Police Department, and code enforcement responsibilities and having a replacement PSO in
place as soon as practical is critical to maintaining uninterrupted continuity of functional
Police and code enforcement operations, and;
WHERAS, the replacement PSO shall be hired from the new Civil Service eligibility
list.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does
hereby approve advertising to create a new eligibility list for the three-quarter (3/4) time
position of Public Service Officer for the City of Mounds View and authorizes staff to complete
the process of recommending a final candidate to the City Council for hire.
Adopted this 24th day of November 2008.
