CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2008 - 2009 LABOR AGREEMENT
WITH LELS LOCAL 204 REPRESENTUING THE PATROL OFFICERS
AND INVESTIGATORS
WHEREAS, the labor agreement between the City of Mounds View and LELS Local
204 expired at the end of 2007; and,
WHEREAS, the City has been in negotiations with LELS in the preparation of a new
contract to cover the term from 2008 through the end of 2009; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to other minor changes and language revisions, the following
represents the significant changes incorporated into the proposed 2008-2009 labor
agreement, as previously reviewed by the City Council in executive session:
2008 Base Wages: increase 5%
2009 Base Wages: increase 5%
2008 Health Insurance Contribution $782.20 per month
2009 Health Insurance Contribution $832.20 per month
WHEREAS, the five percent increase in base wages is intended as a combination
cost of living increase PLUS a market rate adjustment to be consistent with average wages
of patrol officers in comparable communities; as such, the increase should not be viewed
as a precedent for other labor agreements now or in the future.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Mounds
View does hereby ratify the labor agreement for and with Local 204 of Law Enforcement
Labor Services, Inc., effective for two years from January 1, 2008 until December 31, 2009.
Adopted this 8th day of December, 2008.
