Attached please find the Letter we discussed by Phone RE: Charter
Commission meeting scheduled for 7:00 PM Feb 15, 2001. As we
discussed you can arrive at 7:30 PM if you like and I would expect about
15 minutes of presentation from you and 15 to 30 minutes of questions
and answers. I do not have a rigid schedule so we can adjust as
necessary.
As we discussed I would like you to discuss the legal mechanisms related
to the interpretation of the methods allowed by statute for amending the
charter, with emphasis on the “the charter commission may and shall if
petitioned”. I also expect questions and you may address any particulars
of the attached letter that you feel are significant. I should reiterate that
we may decide not to reconsider some of the issues that were presented
last year.
