1. Call to Order

2. Approval of minutes from the March 26, 2009 meeting.
3. Public Input - Citizens are encouraged to speak to the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners
on issues of concern.
4. Introduction- Of new Public Works Director, Nick Debar.
5. YMCA Update: Prindle:

a. Music-in-the-Park:
Discuss sponsors and permit. What is our next step?
b. Ball field fencing improvements.
Status on cost/bids?
Silver View bases and pitching pad?
c. Contribution from Bethlehem Baptist Church.
The City Council accepted the payment distribution for the BBC funds, which include the following
relevant expenditures:
Trail way project (benches, lighting, landscaping) $2,000
Backstop & Fence at Silver View Park $1,800
Landscaping around the Co. Rd 10 gateway signs $1,000
MVCC Audio / Video needs $1,001
d. Mounds View Coach of the Year Award.
Palm contacted Jennifer Holmes and this year’s recipient to attend the Town Hall Meeting.
e. Questions to pose for Town Hall Meeting survey. April 25th 9-12 at MVCC
None specific to pose. Commissioners should plan to attend the Town Hall meeting and be at the table
with the video showing, facility guides, list of email addresses, note cards to “leave a question or comment
for the Commission” Finalize at April meeting.
f. Possible Farmer’s Market? Idea discussed at EDC meeting
Commission reviewed the staff reports. Possible locations Silver View, City Hall, MVCC parking lot
Possible tie-in with Music-in-the-Park nights
Continue to follow-up with EDC
6. New Business:
a. Oakwood/Greenfield Trail way:
Staff met with Tree Trust representative for trail way enhancement: If there is something the Commission
envisions for this trail way, we can work with Tree Trust this summer. Ideas?
b. Set a date for May park tour.
c. Discuss the bridge on Oakwood/Greenfield trail. It has been vandalized again.
