1. CALL TO ORDER at 6:37 PM
2. ROLL CALL: Long, Aukee, Kroeger, Peterson, Palm | Staff: Dazenski, DeBar
3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Kroeger, 2nd by Long.

4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. June 24, 2010 Meeting Minutes: Motion to approve by Kroeger, 2nd by Peterson.

5. PUBLIC INPUT
Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full name
and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. Dale Tchumperlund – Silver Lake
Woods Townhouse Association President – commented on getting 15 softballs in one
evening. City has placed pine trees, but occasionally they deal with some damage to siding
and a window. Wanted to make commission aware and discuss options.
6. YMCA UPDATE
A. Program Updates:
Summer programs wrapping up and camps are going well.
B. 2010 Music-in-the-Park Update: Good turnout last Thursday. Approximately 85 people
attended from all age ranges. Also got good video and that footage will play in the near
future. Next Concert is August 19th
C. Kirk is leaving and will need to fill the Senior Manager position that he is vacating.
7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. Discuss Lambert Park Facilities Layout / On-Street Parking
1. Items Discussed:
New building location in existing parking lot
Pavilion in the location of the existing building
Possibly put diagonal parking along south side of Lambert Ave.
Potential of putting in a basketball/volleyball/tennis court where the existing swing sets are
Shift fence line of ball field inside (southeast) to shorten infield. Have to move fencing;
Keep full hockey rink and playground outline
2. Directed staff to provide to scale drawings to further analyze placement of building and
amenities
Requested to attend Street Committee August 16th meeting if Lambert Ave. parking
will be discussed.
8. NEW BUSINESS
A. Review Sidewalk/Bikeway Plan
1. Discussion of bike/walking routes throughout the city were discussed
2. The most recent trails/sidewalk plans were reviewed – they need to be refreshed
3. Commissioners were requested to provide feedback to staff – Dazenski and DeBar
9. REPORTS:
A. Reports of Commission Members:
1. National Night out is August 3rd – contact the Police Department for more information
B. Reports of City Staff
1. Project Updates/Maintenance Activities: Routine mowing, irrigation repair and analysis
of moving water facilities by Silver Lake Park and County I above ground. Opening up
pathways and clean-up from the recent storms. Lost many limbs and a few trees from
the storm.
2. Greenfield Park Memorial Improvements: Scoreboard has arrived and will be installed
shortly at Greenfield Park. Batting cage will also be installed in August. The combined
total of both amenities will come in right at the donated amount. Signage acknowledging
the memorial was discussed.
3. Urban Forestry Update: DeBar reports that Rick Wriskey is working approximately 8
hours per week. Focused on city property and identification of trees with Oak wilt.
