A. July 22, 2010 Meeting Minutes: Motion to approve minutes by Aukee, 2nd by Palm. Motion

5. PUBLIC INPUT
Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full

6. YMCA UPDATE
A. Program Updates: Fall Family Fun Day October 30th 11:30-1:00 $5 per family.
Room in swim lessons and other youth programs such as floor hockey, indoor soccer, and
preschool sports. Event center available for rental.
7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. Review/Discuss Lambert Park Facilities Layout & On-Street Parking (with Public
Comment). Area residents were invited, but no residents attended. Need to remove several
trees between existing parking lot and ball diamond regardless of building placement. Can
fit 20 parking areas with one handicapped accessibility space. Need to correct elevation on
northwest corner of Lambert and Jackson. This would be funded from the street project.
Discussion of building being straight facing north or south, or sitting at an angle with the
front facing northeast (preferred). Some of the property will be mitigated for drainage per
RCWD (northeast corner, and south east corner. Ability to expand playground to the east if
move ball field east.
B. Review/Update Park Improvement Plan (PIP):
Discussed breaking up Line 15: Ballfield turf improvements with irrigation at Groveland
and Hillview. Groveland is ready to go, but need to wait for Hillview until a decision is
made about the ice rink. Remove #15, and treat #6 and #9 as separate items.
Need to move $6,000 of line 10 from PDF, to BBC contribution.
8. NEW BUSINESS
A. Discuss Agenda for Joint Meeting with City Council on November 1, 2010 at 7:00 pm
Present status of the parks, contributions from BBC, agenda for next year, questions for
the City Council. Discussion of Lambert Park improvements. Kroeger will create a
presentation.
9. REPORTS
A. Reports of Commission Members:
Saturday September 25, Music of the Night at Irondale High School. Gates open at 4:30.
Show starts at 5:00. Cost $5 for students, $8 for adults.
Meeting with BBC and City Staff to discuss contribution options. City Council
recommended the picnic tables and Fire Detection software options as priorities.
Commissioner Arel attended the Street and Utilities Committee meeting to discuss the
Commission’s preference for angled parking at Lambert Park.
B. Reports of City Staff
Work at Greenfield ballfield improvements and Silverview trail. Groveland slide broken
and replacement is on order. Slide vandalism at Silverview Park required needing
replacement. Used old slide parts from old Greenfield. Cannot get replacement parts for
Silverview playground.
Need brush and weed removal at Woodcrest.
