Program Updates: Introduction of Ashley Burke – New Senior Youth Coordinator, Club Mid and other activities Fall Family Fun Day – Saturday, October 30th Cookies with Santa – December 11th, 12:30-2:00 $5 for the family Winter Programs are available now in the Mounds View Matters 7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. Discuss Lambert Park Facilities Layout / On-Street Parking 1. Items Discussed: Layout of park amenities discussed New building moved toward the street Create perpendicular parking for 24 spaces; including 1 handicap and 1 additional space Shift fence line of ball field inside (southeast) to shorten infield. Have to move fencing; Keep full hockey rink and playground outline 2. Recommendations to be provided to the Streets & Utilities Committee joint meeting on November 1st B. Review/Discuss Trail & Sidewalk Plan 1. Commission to recommend a sub-committee during the council work session 8. NEW BUSINESS A. Review Presentation for city Council Work Session on November 1 1. Commissioners provided input on items to present 2. Presentation items to add include ice rink staffing and trails & sidewalk sub-committee B. Discuss Playground Replacement at Silverview Park 1. Directed Staff to provide photos and dimensions to continue the discussion C. Discuss Hockey Rink/Skating Improvements at Hillview Park 1. There was minimal damage from the recent storms/high winds 2. Mounds View Athletic Fields Fee Schedule will be presented to the council during the upcoming work session 3. 2 Commissioner seats are open, applications are due by Monday, November 1st 10. Program Updates: Mounds View Matters is now available and participants can sign up for winter events/classes Cookies with Santa is Dec. 11th at the MVCC Registration for next session of swimming is open, residents are encouraged to sign up now for classes Pat Prindle will be leaving the MVCC effective 11/19. The commission wishes Pat well in his future endeavors Park and facility rentals will go through matt Baumann at 763-717-4041 All other questions should be directed to Ashley Burke 763-717-4042 7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. Discuss Lambert Park Facilities Layout / On-Street Parking 1. Street & Utilities Committee met on 11/15 and made the following recommendations: Construct 60 degree parking with 19+1 stalls Consider mirroring the 60 degree parking and have “back-in” only parking Use park funds to pay for the construction – estimated to be $10,000 2. Motion by Kroeger, second by Arel to make the following recommendation to the City Council: 1. Recommend construction of 60 degree angled parking with 19+ 1 stalls 2. Recommend excluding any provision that directs a way in which vehicles are parked, parking to be striped as shown in the attached Exhibit 3. Recommend the funds to pay for the construction be included with the on- going streets program Motion passed 7-0 B. Review/Discuss layout for park building & facilities at Lambert Park 1. Motion by Palm, second by Long to orient the new Lambert building front to face North. Motion passed 6-1 2. Commission discussed timing which includes impact to field schedule and area road construction schedule C. Discuss playground replacement at Silverview Park 1. Item tabled to December meeting so that aerial photos can be viewed to discuss placement D. Discuss Hockey Rink/Skating Improvements at Hillview Park 1. Directed staff to provide an estimate for costs of a variety of options including a full size rink with ag lime, bituminous and a concrete surface 8. NEW BUSINESS A.
