MEETING AGENDA
1. CALL TO ORDER at 6:33 PM
2. ROLL CALL: Commissioners: Arel, Aukee, Katovich, Kroeger, Kunz, Long, Palm, Rundle

3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Palm, 2nd by Kroeger. Motion passed 6-0
4. SPECIAL BUSINESS
A. Reappointment Oath for Gerald Arel, David Long, and Dale Aukee by Peterson
B. New Appointment Oath for Steve Roste by Peterson
5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. December 18, 2014: Motion to approve by Kunz 2nd by Kroeger. Motion Passed 7-0.
6. PUBLIC INPUT
Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full
name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. No residents present.
7. STAFF REPORTS
A. YMCA: See report. VB league running great! Teen Leaders Club is going strong.
AOA programming has 83% renewals for 2015. Looking at once a month field trips for
senior residents. Event Center revenue is up, Fitness Center usage is up, Gym rental
revenue is up, park building rental is up compared to this time last year. Field requests
need to be reserved by 2/1/2015. Use similar field request system for soccer fields as we
use for baseball fields. Good ice rink usage at Hillview and Lambert.
Several organizations have hosted garage sale events at some park buildings. Area cities
do not have a policy for this, other than Shoreview who does not allow sales at park
buildings. Direct Staff to propose a policy to include damage deposit, leaving items in
building overnight/liability, and cost for February meeting.
B. Public Works: See report. Hillview rink lights are out due to a short in wiring issue. Fix
circuit in spring. Looking for another disc golf designer for Silverview. City Council approved
trail rehabilitation. Energy Savings Partnership program approved by City Council to provide
upgrades to MVCC RTUs, lighting, 40KW solar panels. MCES is planning a sewer pipe
project this summer impacting the Greenfield trailway at the northwest corner of Quincy and
Hillview. Count Road H sidewalk on indefinite hold depending upon Ramsey County and
ISD 621.

8. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. Review Groveland Park 2015 Improvements: Should not have to move tennis court for lift
station as 12’ distance between corners of each.
Estimated costs: $170,710 with some BBC dedicated funds.
Tennis Courts: $75,746
Playground: $59,214
Building: concrete around $11K
Irrigation Ball Field: $25K
Motion by Kunz, 2nd by Kroeger to move forward with Groveland Park improvements
as presented and acquire estimates. Motion Passed 7-0.
9. NEW BUSINESS
A. Future BBC funding opportunities: Silverview improvements for lighting, ventilation, flooring,
kitchen improvements. New park signage with new city logo.
10. COMMISSIONER REPORTS:
Palm: IHS Winter MOTK February 21st
Kroeger: New Brighton is making changes to Hansen Park and the new development area
at the Northwest Quadrant which may impact some of our disc golf usage.
11. REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS / OTHER BUSINESS

3. Building rental and fee schedule policies
