ROLL CALL: Commissioners: Arel, Aukee, Katovich, Kroeger, Kunz, Palm, Rundle, Staff: Erickson, Peterson | YMCA: Thomas 3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Rundle, 2nd by Kroeger. Motion Passed 6-0. 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. March 23, 2017. Motion to approve by Kunz, 2nd by Kroeger. Motion Passed 6-0. 5. PUBLIC INPUT Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. NO RESIDENTS PRESENT. 6. STAFF REPORTS A. YMCA: See attached report. Starting youth Career Pathways Program for ages 14-16 so teens can get some work experience through the YMCA system this summer. B. Public Works: See attached report 7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. City Hall Park – continue discussion on splash pad, playground, picnic area and shelter. Staff will bring total costs including equipment, electrical, and installation to the City Council B. May Park Tour – 5:30 May 25th. Silverview and City Hall. Walk Silverview trail around the pond as well as check out the proposed disc golf course. Meeting to start at 7:00. C. Silver View Disc Golf – Staff did the rough cut of vegetation on the course. Commission will walk the course on May park tour. D. Arbor Day / Earth Day Celebration Plans – Silverview Park tomorrow, April 28th at 11:30. City Staff will be planting some new trees on the berms behind the ball fields. 8. NEW BUSINESS: A. Pollinator Friendly City – a few cities in MN have passed resolutions to be “pollinator friendly” with respect to chemicals being used that may impact bees, birds, butterflies, etc. The city can control the use of chemicals on city property and promote future plantings for pollinating visitors. Can we plant in some of the infiltration basins? Plant along Mounds View Blvd? Where can we plant in city parks? There will be a discussion at the next city council meeting. 9. COMMISSIONER REPORTS: NONE 10. REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS / OTHER BUSINESS: Update on court surfaces 11. ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn at approximately 7:40 pm by Aukee, 2nd by Kroeger. Motion Passed 6-0. Next Regular Commission Meeting: May 25, 2017 6:30pm
