Oath of Office for Appointed Commissioner Sullivan by Don Peterson Complete B. Oath of office for Appointed Commissioner Zaiger by Don Peterson Complete C. Vote on Commission Chair, Vice Chair – Recommend to Council • Arel nominated as Chair, Motion to accept: Rundle, 2nd Kroeger, Pass 6-0 • Kroeger nominated as Vice Chair, Motion to accept: Curry, 2nd Rundle, Pass 6-0 • Palm offered to continue serving as Secretary. • PUBLIC INPUT Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. YMCA – Reviewed CC Update provided by Thomas: • Recognized a MV & YMCA 21 year relationship tomorrow (January 24th) • Youth/Teen Programs: Good involvement in Youth in Government and Model United Nations events • Sports: 1 Girl and 2 Coed B-Ball teams; 2 Girls V-Ball teams; 50 registered to date for summer sports • Senior Programs: Participation increasing – Doubled from 2018 • Membership: YTD daily admissions of 735 • Ice Rinks: Opened ~Jan 1st B. Public Works • Reviewed PW Staff Report • MVCC HVAC improvements • Planning for replacement gym divider, and rest rooms in locker rooms • UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. City Hall Park Veterans Memorial – Volunteer mtgs to occur pre-PR&F Commission mtgs. PR&F Volunteer are Arel and Palm B. Review of Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission – Role and Duties - Commissioners reviewed Chapter 405 as introduction to new commissioners C. Review of City Parks – Commissioners reviewed map of all city parks as introduction to new commissioners D. Review of Park Dedication Fund – Projects, Budget Balance – Commissioners reviewed Park Dedication Fund balance ($265.7k as of Jan 23rd) and funding sources, and planned park projects (PIP) as introduction to new commissioners • NEW BUSINESS - None • COMMISSIONER REPORTS A. Commission should review recreational programs provided by the YMCA B. Interest in lighting of three 3 pine trees between trailway and softball fields during the holidays. Lions interested in helping with lights supplies. Need power run to the site. • REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS / OTHER BUSINESS A. Limited quantity Parks brochures remain.
