HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 9273RESOLUTION 9273 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING CHANGE ORDER #3 FOR THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT REHABILITATION PROJECT WHEREAS, the City Council approved resolution 9201 awarding a contract to Shank Constructors for the Water Treatment Plant Rehabilitation; and WHEREAS, Shank is performing the work per the plans and specifications as prepared by Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services (AE2S); and WHEREAS, during the repair work, Shank determined that an increase to the VFD blower motor is required; and WHEREAS, this change would increase the blower motor from a 5hp motor to a 10hp motor and allow more air exchanged in the chemical rooms of the treatment plants; and WHEREAS, Shank Constructors has submitted a cost for change order #3 for the increase of the VFD Blower motor at a cost of $11,531.00; and WHEREAS, AE2S has reviewed the change order proposal and recommends approving; and WHEREAS Public Works Staff recommends the City Council approve the attached resolution accepting the proposal from Shank Constructors for change order #3 for the increase of the VFD blower motor at WTP 2/ Well 5 and WTP 3 / Well 6 for a total of $11,531.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. Accepts the Proposal Shank Constructors has submitted for change order #3 for the increase of the VFD Blower motor at a cost of $11,531.00. 2. The Director of Public Works is authorized to make approvals related to contract modifications during construction of the Project on behalf of the City Council as per the Purchasing Policy. 3. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
