CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AUTHORIZING THE HIRE OF LEAH VANDECAR TO
EVENT MANAGER / RECREATION COORDINATOR
WHEREAS, Council recommended approval of the City operating a Park and
Recreation Department; and
WHEREAS, staff created a job description for the Event Manager/Program
Coordinator position and revised the title to Event Manager/Recreation Coordinator;
and
WHEREAS, the following pay range has been set for the position:

Ste 2
Ste 3
Ste 4
Step 5

WHEREAS, the Event Manager/Recreation Coordinator position has been
offered to Leah Vandecar who has worked at the Mounds View Community Center
for the nine (9) and a half (1/2) years; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Vandecar has agreed to accept the position with a hire date
of January 1, 2021 at Step 1.5 of the Pay Plan, with vacation accumulating at 15
days per year; and
WHEREAS, after a successful six (6) month probationary period, Ms.
Vandecar would advance to Step 2 on July 1, 2021, Step 3 on July 1, 2022, Step 4
on July 1, 2023, and Step 5 on July 1, 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council,
Ramsey County, Minnesota, hereby approves the revised Event Manager/Recreation
Coordinator Job Description (attached) and authorizes Staff to complete the hire of Leah
Vandecar with a hire date of January 1, 2020 and an official start date of January 4,
2021.
