RESOLUTION APPROVING JOE FLAHERTY AS THE MOUNDS VIEW COMMUNITY
REPRESENTATIVE ON THE SPRING LAKE FIRE DEPARTMENT INC. BOARD OF
DIRECTORS
WHEREAS, The Spring Lake Park — Blaine — Mounds View Fire Department is a
Not -for -Profit Fire Corporation that provides protection and services to the City of
Mounds View; and
WHEREAS, the Corporation is managed by a Board of Directors that includes
five community representatives from the three cities and Mounds View nominate one of
those five;
WHEREAS, fire protection services are one of the core functions a city provides
and ensuring a well -managed and efficient fire service is critical to community; and
WHEREAS, Joe Flaherty, former Mayor and employed in a senior business
position in his private life brings a unique and valued combination of business operation
and public operation; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Flaherty is nearing end of his term, is eligible to serve a second
term and has expressed a desire to do so; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council
approves Resolution 9398 nominating Joe Flaherty, to fill a second term as the Mounds
View Representative to the Spring Lake Park — Blaine — Mounds View Fire Department
Board of Directors;
Adopted this 22nd day of February, 2021.
