STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE END OF THE EXTENSION OF SICK
LEAVE BALANCES FOR COVID-19 RELATED ABSENCES
EFFECTIVE 11:59 P.M., APRIL 30, 2021
WHEREAS, Council approved Resolution 9376 during the January 11, 2021
Council Meeting, authorizing the Public Works Bargaining Unit employees and First
Responders, who tested positive or were exposed to the COVID-19 virus, to receive paid
sick time if approved by the City Administrator; and
WHEREAS, Staff is recommending Resolution 9376 be eliminated effective as of
11:59 p.m. April 30, 2021, as there is an abundance of the Coronavirus Vaccine available
to First Responders and the public at this time; and
WHEREAS, Effective May 1, 2021, employees needing to take time off due to
COVID-19 related absences will need to use their sick leave balances or other
accumulated time; and
WHEREAS, Employees will continue to follow the City's COVID-19 Preparedness
Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council
Authorizes the End of the Extension of Sick Leave Balances for COVID-19 Related
Absences Effective 11:59 P.M., April 30, 2021.
Adopted this 12th day of April, 2021.
