CITY OF'MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AUTHORIZATION TO ESTABLISH SUSTAINABILITY COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the city has a long history of commitment to sustainability and
protecting the environment; and
WHEREAS, as part of this action, an ad hoc committee was formed to explore
and report back to the council, a recommendation on creation of a Sustainability
Committee; and
WHEREAS, the committee, consisting of residents Sherry Gunn, Gary Rundle, and
Marcia Weinandt along with Mounds View Department Heads Don Peterson and Jon
Sevald and City Administrator Nyle Zikmund concurring, recommended establishment; and
WHEREAS, the committee provided a detailed list of focus, all environmental, along
with a recommendation of 4 to 8 members, and
WHEREAS, Council has spent considerable workshop time on this, most recently
their September 7, 2021 workshop to critically review the tasks and appropriate number of
members.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota that authorization is granted to establish a
Sustainability Commission consisting of 4 to 8 members drawn for the resident
population with a target start date of January 1, 2022.
Adopted this 13t" day of September, 2021.
