CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW

AUTHORIZING THE ADDITION OF SECTION 3.20
ACCESS TO GENDER SEGREGATED ACTIVITIES AND AREAS
TO THE PERSONNEL MANUAL
WHEREAS, a goal of the strategic plan was to create a culture where employees
desire to work and remain employed, staff is requesting to add Section 3.20 - Access to
Gender Segregated Activities and Areas, to the Personnel Manual; and
WHEREAS, the HR Committee met and reviewed the policy; and
WHEREAS, staff presented the policy to Council during the October 25, 2021
Work Session (Exhibit A); and
WHEREAS, Section 3.20 Access to Gender Segregated Activities and Areas
establishes parameters where employees are welcome to use restrooms, locker rooms
or changing facilities that correspond to their affirmed gender identify, regardless of their
sex at birth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council
Authorizes the addition of Section 3.20 — Access to Gender Segregated Activities and
Areas, to the Personnel Manual, as shown in Exhibit A (attached).
Adopted this 8t" day of November, 2021.
