HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 9501RESOLUTION 9501 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AUTHORIZATION FOR THE INSTALLATION OF "NO OVER NIGHT PARKING" AND "NO PARKING SIGNS" WHEREAS, parking issue concerns have been communicated regarding the following: • Pinewood School; no parking from the entrance to Belle Lane during school hours • No Parking on both sides of Woodlawn Drive, West of Edgewood Drive • No overnight parking on Bronson Drive from Greenfield Avenue to Jackson Drive WHEREAS, Pinewood School has made communication to the City asking that no parking signs, during school hours, be installed from their entrance on Quincy Street to Belle Lane, for safety reasons due to the congestion that occurs; and WHEREAS, Public Works cannot complete snow removal operations efficiently, thoroughly, and safely due to the narrowness on Woodlawn Drive, west of Edgewood Drive, nor Bronson Drive, from Greenfield Avenue to Jackson Drive due to the apartment residents utilizing on street parking instead of their designated parking lot; and WHEREAS, Staff recommends installing "No Overnight" and "No Parking" signs in the respective above locations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. Approves the installation of "No Overnight Parking" on Bronson Drive from Greenfield Avenue to Jackson Drive. "No Parking" signs on Woodlawn Drive west of Edgewood Drive, and "No Parking during school hours" signs from on Quincy Street from the Pinewood School entrance to Belle Lane. 2. Funds from the Street Sign account 100-4475-1600 will be utilized for the purchase of these signs. 3. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution. 4. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
