I, the undersigned, being the duly qualified City Administrator of the City of
Mounds View, Minnesota, hereby certify that I have carefully compared the
attached and foregoing with the original thereof on file in my office, and the same
is a full, true and complete copy thereof, insofar as the same relates to:
CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION NO. 9567 ENTITLED, "RESOLUTION

CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE 2021 MOUNDS VIEW
COACH OF THE YEAR BOBBY HURT
WHEREAS, the Mounds View Coach of the Year Award recognizes ordinary citizens who have given
unselfishly of their time by coaching and mentoring Mounds View youth and who are dedicated to teaching
sportsmanship and leadership skills to the youth of our community; and
WHEREAS, nominations were solicited from the public and were reviewed by the Parks, Recreation,
and Forestry Commission; and
WHEREAS, Bobby Hurt was selected for the 2021 award and meets the outlined selection criteria;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hurt is a Mounds View resident that has coached first and second grade baseball for
the Mounds View Recreation league; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hurt demonstrates exemplary sportsmanship both on and off the field and coached
his team with leadership while instilling leadership skills in the players; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hurt, as a teacher and ball player himself, was able to bring his experience into the
Mounds View Recreation league by breaking down the fundamentals so each child was able to understand,
while enthusiastically managing a large group of first and second graders; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hurt unselfishly gave of his time and coached with calmness and a high level of
enthusiasm which allowed the players to improve and grow while still enjoying the experience of learning and
playing the game of baseball; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hurt consistently encouraged participation and only asked that players do their best
while encouraging them to show support for their teammates.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mounds View City Council does hereby present the
2021 Mounds View Coach of the Year to Bobby Hurt in sincere gratitude and appreciation for his support and
dedication to the players, parents, and the athletic community of the City of Mounds View.
