RESOLUTION NO.9682
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE BUSINESS LICENSE RENEWAL FOR CURBSIDE
WASTE, INC. FROM JANUARY 1 TO DECEMBER 31, 2023
WHEREAS, City of Mounds View Business Licenses expire December 31, 2022; and
WHEREAS, these business licenses must be approved by the City Council annually; and
WHEREAS, business licenses were approved on December 12, 2022, with the exception of
Curbside Waste, Inc., which was removed from the resolution for further discussion due to
numerous complaint by residents; and
WHEREAS, the documented complains are comprised of the following issues: knowingly
mixing waste and recycling in the same vehicle; representations during a solicitation about a
competitor going out of business; ignoring a No Soliciting sign on residential property while
soliciting; and multiple instances of performing pickups prior to 7:00 a.m.; and
WHEREAS, the City Council asked that a representative from Curbside Waste, Inc.
appears at the next regular Council meeting on December 27, 2022, for further discussion.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council, after
further discussion, hereby approves the Garbage/Recycling Hauler's license for Curbside Waste,
Inc.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this license shall be effective from January 1 to
December 31, 2023.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED the complaints identified in this Resolution constitute
serious matters of concern regarding the issuance of this license to Curbside Waste, Inc., and the
City Council hereby provides notice to Curbside that if any similar or like complaints are received
and validated from January 1 - December 31, 2023, the City Council intends to proceed with
suspending or revoking the license as provided in City Code, section 50.006 (A) (7).
