ROLL CALL: Commissioners: Arel, Curry, Kroeger, Lillemo, Palm, Sullivan,Wake Wiesner, Staff: Peterson | Thomas 3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Motion to approve by Palm, 2nd by Wake Wiesner. Motion Passed 6-0 4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: September 23, 2021 Meeting Minutes. Motion to approve by Wake Wiesner, 2nd by Curry. Motion Passed 6-0 5. PUBLIC INPUT Citizens may speak to issues not on tonight’s agenda. Before speaking, please give your full name and address. Please limit your comments to three minutes. No residents present 6. STAFF REPORTS A. Parks and Recreation – See attached report. B. Public Works – Don- See attached report. 7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS A. Random Park Playground – Looked at options from St. Croix Recreation ($140K) and Minnesota Wisconsin Playgrounds ($135,577). Both have similar features. No swings, but a zip line, and does include the concrete. It will not have room for the climbing wall or merry- go-round from City Hall park. Motion by Palm, 2nd by Lillemo to recommend the proposal from Minnesota Wisconsin Playground to replace the playground at Random Park in 2022 in colors blue and green to City Council at a cost of $135,577. Motion Passed 6-0. 8. NEW BUSINESS A. Review applications for Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission – (3 seats). Looking at the candidate applications. Motion by Kroeger, 2nd by Sullivan to recommend applicants 2 and 3 to fill two of the seats available to the Commission. Motion Passed 6-0. Motion by Kroeger, 2nd by Palm to recommend existing Commissioner, Kris Lillemo, keep his seat if he submits his application. Motion Passed 5-0, Lillemo abstain. 9. COMMISSIONER REPORTS- 1) Change clocks back in November and check smoke detector batteries. 2) Where are we at with the books in the park walking tour? Last meeting we discussed getting the Girl Scouts involved. 3) Remember to vote on November 2! 10. REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS / OTHER BUSINESS: Next year’s recreation programs, gaga ball. 11. ADJOURNMENT: Motion to adjourn at 7:40 PM by Lillemo, 2nd by Sullivan. Motion Passed 6-0 Next Regular Commission Meeting: November 18, 2021 at 6:30 PM
