STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
2023 FEE SCHEDULE REGARDING BUILDING PERMIT FEES AND SURCHARGES
WHEREAS, annual revisions and updates to the City of Mounds View Fee
Schedule are necessary; and
WHEREAS, often times the need arises to amend the fee schedule more than just
once a year; and
WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View follows Minnesota State Statutes regarding
building permit fees and surcharges;
WHEREAS, the 2023 Fee Schedule references the 2020 State Statutes; and
WHEREAS, there has been a amendment in the 2022 State Statutes that would
change the amount of revenue generated by the City of Mounds View for building permit
fees and surcharges that are based on valuation, and
WHEREAS, the City could be subject to a considerable loss in revenue for the
year 2023 if we wait until the annual fee schedule amendment for 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Mounds View does hereby approve the following amendment to the 2023 Fee schedule:
Appendix A — 2029 2022 MN State Statutes: 326B.153 Building Permit Fees
Appendix B — 2020 2022 MN State Statutes: 326B.148 Surcharge
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this fee schedule amendment will take effect
immediately.
