HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 9711RESOLUTION 9711 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AUTHORIZATION FOR A CHEMICAL STORAGE ADDITION TO THE SPLASH PAD BUILDING. WHEREAS, Public Works Staff has been operating and maintaining the Splash Pad over the past several years; and WHEREAS, Staff has informed the City Council of the challenge with the combined chlorine issue and the need to make adjustments to the water treatment process, a chemical was added to help reduce the combined chlorine issue. WHEREAS, Public Works Administration was recently informed of the personal safety issues while dealing with this chemical and the effects this chemical is having in the electrical components of the Splash Pad; and WHEREAS, Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground of Golden Valley, Minnesota prepared a proposal for an 8'x10' chemical storage building addition at a cost of $57,330.00; and WHEREAS, Staff is recommending the City Council adopt attached resolution to approving the purchase and installation an 8'x10' chemical storage building addition for the Splash Pad. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. Approves the purchase and installation an 8'x10' chemical storage building addition as proposed by Minnesota/Wisconsin for the amount of $57,330.00. 2. Funds for the above said purchase and installation shall be funded by the Special Projects Fund (480-4160-3030) with a 2023 budget amount of $60,000.00 for various community center repairs. 3. The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to execute all appropriate documents to effectuate the actions contemplated by this resolution. 4. The Mayor and City Administrator, staff and consultants are hereby authorized and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
