CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A NEW TRACKED LOADER
FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, as part of the Public Works Departments maintenance programs, vehicles
and equipment are a necessity; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has been utilizing Aebie Tractors and Bob Cat
Skid Steers for these various tasks; and
WHEREAS, Getting the Aebie unit repaired and receiving parts became more challenging
and the Bob Cat skid steer would cause considerable damage to turf areas; and
WHEREAS, Staff started the research and testing of equipment to replace the Aebie
tractor, and during this testing a tracked loader was tested and proved it would be a valuable
asset to the Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, During the 2023 budget process and working with the Finance Director,
$75,000.00 was placed in the 2023 budget to purchase a tracked Loader; and
WHEREAS, Staff has obtained a quote from Tri State Bob Cat of Little Canada MN to purchase
a T76 T4 Bobcat Track Loader, for $81,989.80. Funded from the Surface Water and Drinking
Water Budgets accounts 745-4415-7030 and 700-4820-7030.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View,
Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. The City hereby authorizes the purchase of a T76 T4 Bobcat Track Loader, for
$81,989.80 from Tri-State Bob of Little Canada MN.
2. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized and
directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or convenient in
order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
