1. Roll Call
2. Approval of minutes from the December 16, 2004 meeting.
3. Unfinished Business:
Greenfield Park Play Equipment -
On December 16, 2004 the Parks and Recreation Commission approved adding the climbing wall to the project. The Commission also approved color scheme. Based on these approvals, Staff
placed the order with the contractor, Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground. It is anticipated that the playground equipment will be delivered and installed in May of 2005.
Groveland Park Building Replacement. –
TKDA continues to work on the preparation of the site plans, construction plans, specifications, and any other planning phase aspects of this project. Staff has requested that TKDA provide
an approximate time estimate when draft plans could be available for the Commissioner’s review.
Facility Guide Update – A revised draft will be submitted to the Commission in February. At the December 16, 2004 meeting, the Parks and Recreation Commissioners suggested that the
printing of the Facility Guide could be delayed until there is more information pertaining to the Groveland Building – after more is known about the status of the building / after it
is officially approved by the City Council.
YMCA Committee Update – A meeting was held on January 10, 200A5. Items that were discussed were Recreation Software, adding two new security cameras, addition of two used, commercial
grade, treadmills donated by the YMCA, and the remodeling of the interior of the building. The entrance sign has be updated to include all current tenants.
2004 Park Needs Analysis – This was completed at the October 2004 meeting.
City Wide Survey
Staff has developed a DRAFT fifty-question (50) Community Survey. This will be discussed with the City Council at the next Work Session on February 7, 2005. Staff also created a longer
104-question survey. Although a 50-question survey was approved by the City Council, the Council may want to consider adding additional questions.
Attached is a memorandum to the City Council pertaining to the Community Survey. All five (5) questions, submitted by the Parks and Recreation Commission, are included in the DRAFT
questionnaire (questions No. 25 through 30). There are also two questions pertaining to the Community Center (questions No. 31 and 32).
4. New Business:
Review Applications for the Vacant Parks and Recreation Commission Seat / Provide a Recommendation. – Staff advertised the vacancy in the City’s official newspaper, on the City’s web
site, and announced the vacancy at Parks and Recreation and City Council Meetings. As of the deadline of Monday, January 17, 2005, the City received one application. This was from
Cindy Palm. Ms. Palm was instrumental in raising money for the Greenfield Park Playground Replacement Project. Attached is a copy of her application.

The DNR is planning to install the Lakeside Lions Park Fishing Pier before the second week of June, if possible.
