Approval of minutes from the November 20, 2008 meeting AND December 18, 2008 meetings. 3. Public Input - Citizens are encouraged to speak to the Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commissioners on issues of concern. 4. Swearing in of Commissioners. Oath will be administered by staff. 5. YMCA Update: 6. Unfinished Business: a. Hillview Park parking spaces: The City Council has decided to move forward with 15 angled parking spaces including two handicapped spaces and access, without the sidewalk. Parking bump-out will not happen on Greenwood Drive. Park Dedication Funds will not be used. Is there a need for two handicapped stalls? Or can we have one stall and access? Direct Staff to answer these questions. b. Lambert building replacement This is in process, departments have been contacted and discussions have been held. Information is still being acquired and report should be ready for January meeting. Direct Staff to provide photos of building condition to present to City Council. Request notification of meeting with City Council when this is presented. 6. New Business: a. Comprehensive Park Lighting Program: * Staff is working with Xcel and with Maintenance Engineering Inc. Information is being compiled and possible report completed for January meeting. b. Ballfield needs analysis (Lambert, City Hall, Silver View, Groveland, Hillview, Greenfield) Request Park Dept. and YMCA staff to compile field use data for all ball fields with age groups, nights of the week, and organizations for January meeting. Also include projected field use. What fields can handle which age groups? Areas of need and conflict? What would need to happen in order to make SilverView more age-appropriate for 7th grade? Also direct staff to compile field conditions and maintenance/upgrade recommendations. c. Any need to discuss Comprehensive Plan Chapters (memo and 2 chapters) supplied by Heidi Heller in Community Development? What does it mean when it says “The Metropolitan Council’s Regional Parks Policy Plan identifies one planned regional facility within Mounds View.”? d. Review latest MV Branding Survey: e. Sysco Outlot: communication verification with Medtronic about the monies set aside in Park Dedication Funds and the expiration date of this project. Review of Park Dedication Fund Discuss potential ideas for funding through the Bethlehem Baptist Church's Mounds View service fund 7. Commissioner/Staff Reports: a) ALRC Biking Committee—Darren Peterson is a representative for that committee. b) Park Vandalism: Request cost estimates of vandalism repair costs. c) Other reports? 8. Request for future agenda items/other business Possible Items for the February Agenda. Trailways in coordination with Street and Utility Improvements and Comprehensive Plan (possible signage of designated trailways) 9. Motion to adjourn
