HomeMy WebLinkAboutCharter Resolution 2000-06t RESOLUTION NO. 2000-06 MOUNDS VIEW CHARTER COMMISSION RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL BY ORDINANCE; AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE SECTION 2.02 THE MOUNDS VIEW CITY CHARTER. The Mounds View Charter Commission acting under Minnesota Statutes 410.12 Subdivision 7, hereby recommends amending the Charter of the City of Mounds View under Section 2.02 and is amended by the addition of the bold and underlined language and by the deletion of the language to read as follows; Section 2.02. Boards and Commissions. There shall be no separate administrative Board of Health,Library Board, or any other administrative board or commission except for the administration of a function jointly with another political subdivision. The Council shall itself be and perform the duties and exercise the powers of such boards and commissions provided by state law. The Council may, however, establish by ordinance boards or commissions to advise the Council with respect to any municipal function or activity,to investigate any subject or interest to the City, or to perform quasi-judicial functions. The members of such boards and commissions shall serve without compensation. BE IT RESOLVED that the Charter Commission directs the commission's chairperson to forward this resolution to the Clerk-Administrator for presentation to the City Council under Minnesota Statutes 410.12 Subdivision 7. If the City Council does not adopt this resolution by an unanimous vote,the Charter Commission hereby requests that the above amendment be placed on the ballot at the next general election in November 2000,under Minnesota Statues 410.12 Subdivision 1.
