I am one of the five electors sponsoring the attached petition to modify the Mounds
View City Charter. I am hereby submitting this petition to you as a staff representative
of the city's charter commission, seeking certification in accordance with Minnesota
Statutes 410.12.
I would like to bring to your attention that the language of the proposed amendment was
approved by the Minnesota Supreme Court on February 20, 2020 in A17-0221.
Furthermore, on September 5, 2023, the Anoka city council, upon the direction of the
Anoka city attorney and city clerk, placed this exact same question on their 2024
general election ballot.
Please promptly notify me of any insufficiencies in the petition.
