Acting President Cermak called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. 13

Executive Director Zikmund reported the EDA bylaws require the EDA to elect and appoint 1
officers at the first meeting of each year. 2

Commissioner Lindstrom stated he supported the Acting Mayor serving as the EDA President. He 4
explained this would mean Commissioner Meehlhause would serve as EDA President. The EDA 5
supported this recommendation. 6

Commissioner Meehlhause recommended Commissioner Lindstrom serve as the Vice President 8
for the EDA. The EDA supported this recommendation. 9

Commissioner Cermak agreed to serve as the Treasurer. 11

Commissioner Gunn agreed to serve as the Secretary. 13

MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Lindstrom. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 24-EDA-15
370, Electing and Appointing Officers to the Mounds View Economic Development Authority 16
(EDA) as discussed. 17

To: EDA President and Commissioners

Item Title/Subject: Confirm EDC Chair Appointment
Introduction:
As per Section 33.086 of the Mounds View City Code it specifies that the EDC shall
appoint a chairperson from among its voting members and such appointment shall be
subject to EDA approval. The Chair may not serve more than two consecutive one year
terms.
The Vice Chair is not subject to EDA approval. The Vice Chair is appointed and approved
from within the EDC and may serve unlimited consecutive terms.
Discussion:
On January 18, 2024 the EDC recommended the appointed of Jeff Moritko as the EDC
Chair. This will be his second term as Chair.
Recommendation:
Consistent with City Code, staff recommends that the EDA make a motion confirming
the EDC appointment for Chair.
