Chair RESOLUTION TRANSMITTING CITIZEN PETITION AND
Russell Warren PROPOSING AMENDMENT TO THE MOUNDS VIEW CHARTER

Vice Chair WHEREAS, the City of Mounds View (the "City") is govemed by

WHEREAS, the City's charter commission (the "Commission")
2"' Vice Chair received a proposed amendment to the City's charter initiated by a petition
.Terry Peterson submitted pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, section 410.12, subdivisions 1, 2,
612-607-3953 and, 3 (the "Petition"), a copy of which is included as Exhibit A; and
Secretary WHEREAS, in accordance with Minn. Stat. 410.12, subds. 1 and 3,

Edeth James WHEREAS, there were 5048 votes cast during the November 2022

and the Petition appears to include 279 signatures.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mounds View
Charter Commission, as is required by Minnesota Statutes, section 410.12,
subdivision 1, that the Petition -initiated amendment be transnutted to the
City Council for examination by the City Clerk and subsequent submission
to the voters as provided in Minn. Stat. 410.12, subds. 3 and 4. If approved
by the voters, it is the desire of the Charter Commission to see this language
added to Chapter 12 of the Charter as the next available numbered section.
Passed and adopted at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Mounds View
Charter Commission on September 19, 2023
