Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9900 Canvassing Election Results of the 2024 Special
Election
One (1) seat was available for the 2024 Special Election: One (1) for Council Member. The
Council Member position is a partial term, which will begin immediately and conclude January 4,
2027. The ballot displayed the following individuals:

One Question was available on the 2024 Special Election, sponsored by a committee of Mounds
View registered voters: Should the Mounds View City Charter be amended to add: "Unless first approved
by a majority of voters in a state general election, the City shall not replace the competitive market in solid
waste collection with a system in which solid waste services are provided by government-chosen collectors
or in government-designed districts. The adoption of this Charter amendment shall supersede any
ordinances, ordinance amendments, or Charter amendments related to solid waste adopted by the City
Council after January 1, 2023."?

WHEREAS, a special election was held on April 9, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the results of this election are as follows:
