CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF AN 2024 F550 CAB AND CHASSIS TRUCK
AND BUCKET BODY INSTALLATION
WHEREAS, the City has pickup trucks and chassis that are utilized for the Public
Works Department to perform necessary maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the City Council understands the need for Public Works to properly
operate various tasks such as street, trailway, sign and tree maintenance, Parks
maintenance, Forestry operations; and
WHEREAS, Staff has been utilizing a 2006 Ford F550 4x2 bucket truck, for the
Streets and Parks maintenance; and
WHEREAS, Staff received a quote from Saxon Fleet Services of Oakdale, MN for
an F550 Regular cab and chassis with options at cost of $56,388.49; and
WHEREAS, Staff received a quote from Crysteel of Fridley, MN, to transfer bucket
body from unit #447 to new 2024 F550 cab and chassis, trade in of unit # 447 is included
in cost of $12,494.00; and
WHEREAS, Staff also recommends the Purchase of seat covers, City graphics, 2-
way radio for a cost of $1,362.25; and
WHEREAS, the 2024 Budget includes funds in the Vehicles and Equipment
Pavement Management fund 460-4470-7040.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds
View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows:
1. The City hereby accepts the quote of $56,388.49, submitted by Saxon Fleet
Services of Oakdale, MN which includes sales tax, registration and license
fees.
2. The City Council accepts the quote $12,494.00 for the bucket body transfer
from unit #447 to new 2024 F550 cab and chassis and trade in of unit #447 to
Crysteel of Fridley, MN.
3. The City Council approves the installation of seat covers, City graphics and a
2-way radio for a total cost of $1,362.25.

4. The Mayor and City Administrator, Staff and consultants are hereby authorized
and directed to take any and all additional steps and actions necessary or
convenient in order to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
